Just a quick response to let you know that I would highly recommend Compass Tours and Durjay for your trip. I found him on the internet and was impressed with his prompt and thorough responses to my questions while planning my trip at short notice (June 2001). I also checked with Cox & King (right name?) but found Compass to be much more price competitive and,even more importantly, able to offer highly personalized service.

From the time he picked me up at the airport to the time I met him at the hotel in Delhi to debrief, I was highly impressed with the professionalism, dependability, knowledge, contacts (very important in India) and personal touch (you will always have the number of his personal cell phone during your trip, and he will respond as if a friend needed help) of Durjay Sen Gupta. He is a young entrepreneur building his business and deserves, in my judgment, the support and trust of travelers coming to this fascinating country. Two recommendations: I'd try the Oberoi hotel while you're in Delhi and would highly recommend the Amarvilas in Agra as a fantastic hotel with views of the Taj Mahal.
